LOWER DIR: Keeping in view the second coronaviurs wave a 20-bed isolation ward and an eight-bed ICU were set up at the District Headquarters Hospital, Timergara, on Friday.

The hospital’s medical superintendent Dr Shaukat Ali told journalists that both the wards were equipped with essential facilities.

He said the government-issued SOPs were strictly being followed at the general OPD and inside the wards. He said oxygen cylinders had been provided to the isolation ward and ICU.

JI RALLIES: The Jamaat-i-Islami, Lower Dir emir Izazul Mulk Afkari has said the nation has attached great expectations with its youth and they should play active role in steering the country out of the multiple crises.

He was addressing a function at the end of a car rally arranged by the JI Youth Wing Talash at Bandagai on Friday. Such rallies were also held in Timergara, Munda, Samarbagh, Khall, Rabat and Lal Qilla.

Mr Afkari said the JI would hold a massive rally in Timergara on Nov 29 addressed by party chief Senator Sirajul Haq and other central leaders.

He said the party’s youth wing had arranged the car rallies at tehsil level to mobilise the general public to participate in the Nov 29 public meeting. He said youth were the real asset of the nation.

The other speakers said the Imran Khan-led government had failed to fulfill its promises made with the people. They claimed that the JI could bring a real change in the country.

CHILD KILLED: A child was killed when he was hit by a speeding motorcycle in Munda on Friday, residents said.

They said Ayan was rushed to a nearby hospital but he succumbed to injuries. The Munda police registered a case and started further investigations.
