ISLAMABAD: Top military commanders on Tuesday expressed concern over Indian sponsorship of terrorism in Pakistan and renewed the pledge to safeguard the country against any misadventure.

A meeting of the corps commanders at the General Headquarters presided over by Army Chief Gen Qamar Bajwa reviewed geostrategic, regional and national security environment.

Moreover, participants of the session discussed internal security, situation along borders, Line of Control (LoC) and atrocities in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and “the positive progress in Afghan Peace Process”.

Pakistan urges world to act on its dossier presented with evidence of New Delhi’s sponsorship of terrorism

This was the first meeting of the military top brass since “irrefutable evidence” of Indian patronage of terrorism and efforts to destabilise the country was made public last Saturday in the shape of a ‘dossier’.

The generals, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations, showed “serious concern” over the “irrefutable evidence of Indian state sponsored terrorism and efforts to destabilise Pakistan” and observed that the “Indian efforts to sabotage CPEC, involvement in financing and training of terrorist organisations for fomenting unrest in Pakistan, especially in AJK, Gilgit-Baltistan and Balochistan, are an affront to peace and security in the region”.

The proofs collected by the intelligence agencies point towards Indian design of sponsoring terrorism in Pakistan to impede its progress towards peace, prosperity and economic recovery, military officials say. India as part of its strategy in this regard, they say, has been financing, training, harbouring and promoting Pakistan-centric terrorist entities.

Besides sharing the salient features with the media, the details have been shared with both permanent and non-permanent members of the UN Security Council, the European Union countries, and OIC states. Officials say the ‘dossier’ will be given to UN Secretary General António Guterres, for which a meeting has been scheduled, and OIC Secretary General Dr Yousef bin Ahmad Al-Othaimeen at upcoming meeting of the foreign ministers in Niger.

Pakistan’s move caused India to unleash propaganda campaign against it. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi first alleged that a terror plot by Pakistan-based groups has been thwarted. It was followed by Indian Ministry of External Affairs demarching Pakistan on the alleged plot and later briefing foreign envoys on the so-called terror threat from the neighbour.

Foreign Office Spokesman Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri said: “The Indian government has escalated its anti-Pakistan campaign, marked by false narratives, concocted evidence, and orchestration of false flag operations.”

He said the briefing for the envoys by Indian Ministry of External Affairs was yet another attempt to mischievously implicate Pakistan in some alleged planned attack in Occupied Kashmir.

“The completely baseless and unsubstantiated Indian allegations are nothing but a reflection of desperate efforts on India’s part to salvage its false terrorism narrative against Pakistan and to divert international attention from its state terrorism in Occupied Kashmir and state-sponsorship of terrorism against Pakistan,” he maintained.

Mr Chaudhri repeated fears of the possibility of India undertaking a false flag operation to implicate Pakistan.

He cautioned the world against being misled by Indian propaganda and urged it to act on the ‘dossier’ presented by Pakistan with incontrovertible evidence of Indian state-sponsorship of terrorism.

The corps commanders, while discussing the ceasefire violations by the Indian Army, resolved to do everything possible to protect innocent population living along LoC from Indian firing deliberately targeting civil population.

The army is constructing community bunkers in areas along LoC.
