Monetary policy on Monday

KARACHI: The SBP on Thursday said the Monetary Policy Committee will meet on Nov 23 (Monday) at Karachi to announce the monetary policy. The central bank said that it will release the statement through a press release on the same day.

Analysts forecast the SBP will maintain its policy rate at current levels, keeping the real interest rates in the negative territory amid easing inflationary pressures.

SSGC records Rs7.52bn loss

Sui Southern Gas Company Ltd on Thursday reported loss after tax at Rs7.52bn and loss per share at Rs8.54 for the half year ended Dec 31, 2018 against loss after tax of Rs7.69bn and LPS of Rs8.73 for the same time of 2017.

JS Global withdraws intention to acquire BIPL Securities

JS Global Capital Ltd on Thursday withdrew its intention to acquire 77.1m shares (77.12pc) of BIPL Securities Ltd. The company had made public announcement for acquisition on Feb 21.
