LAKKI MARWAT: Students of the Government Girls Degree College, Naurang, clinched the top positions in the annual examination results of BA/BSc announced by the University of Lakki Marwat here on Monday.

The varsity’s controller of examinations Inamullah Khan announced the results at a function.

Fatima Rasool and Sitara Urooj of the Naurang college grabbed the first and second positions in BSc examination results by securing 485 and 477 marks out of 550, respectively.

Amjadullah Khan, a student of Government Boys Degree College, Tajori, secured the third position by obtaining 476 marks.

In BA exam results, private candidates Tariq Kamal clinched first position by securing 439 marks, Umer Khitab and Rameen Gul stood second and third by securing 420 and 419 marks, respectively.

SCHOOLS CLOSED: The Bannu district administration has closed three educational institutions after several students and teachers tested positive for coronavirus.

In the wake of second Covid-19 wave, the health experts had collected samples of students and teachers in different government and private educational institutions, said an official on Monday.

He said the laboratory results showed that several students and teachers had contacted the virus.

Afterwards, deputy commissioner Mohammad Zubair Niazi ordered closure of the institutions for five days.

The closed institutions included government girls high school, Bazaar Ahmad Khan, government girls degree college, Township, and government girls centennial model high school, Tanchi Bazaar.

The official said the affected teachers and students had been quarantined at their homes.

The deputy commissioner asked the people to follow the precautionary measures to protect themselves from the virus.
