ISLAMABAD: The Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) is expected to meet on Dec 3 to consider names of two lawyers for the posts of Islamabad High Court (IHC) judges.

IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah has recommended the names of advocates Babar Sattar and Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri for the coveted posts.

As per Article 175-A of the Constitution, the meeting of the JCP will be presided over by Chief Justice of Pakistan Gulzar Ahmed and attended by the IHC chief justice and four senior most judges of the Supreme Court namely Justice Mushir Alam, Justice Umar Ata Bandial, Justice Qazi Faez Isa and Justice Maqbool Baqar.

Senior puisine judge of the IHC Justice Aamer Farooq will also attend the meeting in addition to Law Minister Dr Farogh Naseem, Attorney General for Pakistan Khalid Jawed Khan, Senior Advocate nominated by the Pakistan Bar Council Akhtar Hussain.

Islamabad Bar Council’s Vice Chairman Qazi Rafiuddin Babar is also the member of the JCP.
