KARACHI: The Iqbal Day Cup stands out prominently in a five-race card that has been drawn for the winter Gymkhana race meeting at the Karachi Racecourse on Sunday.

Besides the cup all the other days races have been dedicated to the great poet and philosopher.

The Iqbal Day Cup has a field of nine horses who will battle it out for honours I the four-and-a-half furlongs contest. The race is also the feature event — top scale order II, III and IV.

The supporting event — scale order IV and V — has 13 acceptors and will also go over four-and-a-half furlongs.

The first three races will be contested over four furlongs.

Meanwhile, a quartet of horses will make their debut on Sunday. They includes Wag, Quetta Pride, Hello My Darling and Ghazi Bird.

Altogether, 54 horses have entered the day’s races.

The first race starts at 2pm.
