GUJRANWALA: Twelve people were killed and 30 others injured on Thursday in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck in Pindi Bhattian.

According to reports, the Gujranwala-to-Sargodha bus and the truck collided head-on near Tahliwala Goraya Village on Hafizabad-Sargodha Road due to the speeding factor leaving 12 bus passengers, including women and children, dead and 30 others injured.

Pindi Bhattian Station House Officer Sajjad told reporters that only two bodies were identified and the deceased were Mukhtar and Ghulam Haider whereas 10 others were unidentified so far.

Pictures of the deceased have been uploaded online.

Of the injured, Qaisar, Riffat, Nasir Ali, Nadeem Akhar, Shehzadi Perveen, Arooj, Azam and Nasir Shahid suffered life-threatening injuries and Rescue 1122 shifted them to the THQ hospital.

The police seized both vehicles.
