KARACHI, Sept 29: The Senate’s Standing Committee on Defence and Defence Production visited an Operational Base on Thursday to witness phase III of the ongoing Exercise High Mark 2005.
The Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Defence and Defence Production, Nisar Ahmed Memon, led the team.
The visiting members were briefed by the Base Commander, Masroor Base, Air Commodore Farhat Hussain, about the air operations being undertaken in the coastal areas and the Arabian Sea.
The committee members keenly observed air sorties and other operational activities at the base. They also interacted with officers and men of the base.
They were apprised about various joint operational activities being undertaken by the Pakistan Air Force during the exercise.
Members of the committee included senators Muhammad Akram, Asif Jatoi, Waqar Ahmed Khan, Mouhim Khan Baloch, Naeem Hussain Chatta, Farhat Ullah Babar, Mrs Rukhsana Zuberi and Secretary to Defence Committee Shahiq A Khan.—APP
