Published September 30, 2005

ISLAMABAD, Sept 29: The Central Board of Revenue (CBR) has clarified that special procedures for collection and payment of sales tax will not apply on buses and trucks.

An official announcement issued here on Thursday said that the procedures notified through the sales tax notification SRO951 of 2005 could only be applicable for motor cars and motorcycles falling under PCT heading 87.03 and 87.11.

The collectors are advised to ensure that necessary measures are taken at their level to immediately register dealers of such vehicles falling in their jurisdiction and that efficient coordination is made with the concerned registration authorities and the sales tax on the transfer of registration is charged and paid as per law.
