LAHORE: The Punjab Institute of Language, Art and Culture (Pilac) is planning to represent every district of the province through its Punjab Cultural Museum, but since the inception of the museum in 2008 there has not been a post of a curator for it.

The charge of the museum has so far been held by various officials of Pilac. The officials said that once the museum represented different districts of Punjab, it would be enriched further. Pilac Board of Governor’s next meeting would determine how to represent the districts through different corners of the museum.

For several years, Pilac has also been proposing an upgrade of the museum by bringing in new artefacts and improving its display

Pilac Director General Dr Sughra Sadaf told Dawn that in the upcoming board meeting, not only the post of a curator for the museum would be announced, but also for the Pilac Art Gallery and some other posts.
