‘Human smuggler’ arrested

GUJRANWALA, Sept 27: The Federal Investigation Agency claimed on Tuesday to have arrested a human smuggler in a raid while another managed to escape.

It said Karar Hussain received Rs300,000 from Jamil of Khokherki seven years ago. Neither he sent him abroad nor returned his money.

On his complaint an FIA party raided his hideout and arrested him. He was wanted in various other cases and was declared proclaimed offender. Meanwhile, Amjad involved in human smuggling ran away and raids were being conducted for his arrest.

SUSPENDED: The National Database and Registration Authority suspended two officials from service on the charge of embezzlement and issued them show cause notice here on Tuesday.

It is learnt that Hafizur Rehman Bhatti and Abid Tufail have been receiving Rs140 per head for providing them computerized ID card.

They were found guilty in a preliminary inquiry conducted by an assistant project manager. It was stated that half a dozen officials of swift centre of Trust Plaza were sacked a few months ago on the corruption charge.
