KARAK: A faith healer was killed inside his house in Latamber area of Karak on Saturday.

Police said Hafiz Aslam Noor was at his house attending to people when some masked men entered his residence and shot him dead with a pistol.

The accused managed to escape the scene after committing the crime.

Mohibullah, a brother of the slain, lodged FIR with the Latamber police against unidentified persons.

ACTIVISTS THREATEN PROTEST: Activists of rights bodies have decided to launch a protest movement against non-availability of basic amenities to the local residents.

Speaking at a meeting on Saturday chaired by Khattak Ittehad president Maulana Mirzaqeem, they criticised Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf MNA Shahid Khattak for allegedly interfering into the workings of the MPAs.

MPA Mian Nisar Gul Kakakhel was also in attendance.

The speakers criticised the SNGPL for leaving out man areas of the Karak city in the provision of gas facility. They complained the people were facing 18 hours of power loadshedding.

The speakers said the Karak city residents were facing water shortage.

On the occasion, Mr Kakakhel, who is also the chairman of Loya Jirga, an alliance of lawmakers of Kohat division, said the provincial government of PTI had failed to resolve the basic problems of the people.

The lawmaker said the oil and gas exploration companies were not interested in providing relief to the people despite agreements.

He said inflation had stressed the people out, warning that the people would launch a protest movement if the government did not take measures to bring down prices of commodities and reduce unemployment.
