UPPER DIR: The law enforcement agencies foiled a terrorism bid in Usheri Darra, Upper Dir district, by defusing three improvised explosive devices (IEDs) on Wednesday evening.

Sources said the security forces launched an intelligence-based operation after information that IEDs had been planted in Almas area of Usheri Darra.

The bomb disposal unit personnel defused one IED weighing 5kg and two of 7kg each. The sources said the terrorists planted the IEDs in fields for sabotage activities, but timely action by the police and law-enforcement agencies frustrated their attempt.
