ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa on Thursday visited Bahawalpur where he was briefed on operational, training and administrative matters of the Bahawalpur Corps.

The COAS also witnessed sniper training of soldiers who demonstrated successfully shooting targets at long ranges as far as 1,500 meters.

Interacting with officers and men, the COAS appreciated their professional prowess and high morale. He lauded shooters on their commendable marksmanship. He said training is vital part of every soldier’s professional development and must remain our hallmark to meet the challenges of future battlefield. The COAS also inaugurated Soldiers Club at Bahawalpur Garrison. It is meant for the welfare of troops and their families.

Earlier, on arrival, Corps Commander Bahawalpur, Lieutenant General Syed Muhammad Adnan received the COAS.
