Top teams vie for honours

KARACHI, Jan 19: The Colony Sports Football Club Malir is holding a Football Mela tournament on completion of its fifty-years.

The tournament will be staged at Colony Sports Complex Malir from Jan 28 and culminate on Feb 17.

According to the organizers as many as forty teams including KPT, Habib Bank, National Bank, KESC, Sui Southern Gas Company, KDA, Pak PWD, PAF Peshawar, Khyber Agency Peshawar, Pakistan Navy, Sutlaj Club Bahawalpur, Young Baloch Mirpurkhas, Balochistan Police Quetta, Afghan Club Chamman, besides teams from Gawadar, Khusdar and Turbat will take part.

The tournament will be held in two phases.

In the first phase, local teams will compete out of which eight to qualify for the final round, while the second phase will be on league basis.

The final will be staged on Feb 17.—APP
