LAHORE, Sept 25: Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi has ordered release of another Rs125 million development fund for the Lahore Press Club Housing Scheme. He directed the Lahore Development Authority to complete all the development works within the next six months positively. No further delay in this regard would be tolerated, the chief minister said while presiding over the second meeting of the Punjab Journalists Housing Foundation here.

Pervaiz Elahi directed Punjab Board of Revenue senior member Javaid Syed to immediately issue the notification regarding the transfer of the title of state land to the Punjab Journalists Housing Foundation.

He also directed Lahore District Coordination Officer Khalid Sultan to take immediate steps for the purchase of additional land for the scheme from private owners.

LPC president Arshad Ansari thanked the chief minister for fulfilling his promise to give residential plots to the journalists of Lahore. He requested the chief minister to also provide housing facilities to the journalists of other districts.

The chief minister directed BoR senior member Javaid Syed and provincial information secretary Taimoor Azmat Osman to select land in Multan and Faisalabad for the purpose and submit a report to him at the earliest.

Also attended by Punjab Chief Secretary Kamran Rasool, CM’s Principal Secretary GM Sikandar, Finance Secretary Salman Siddiq, Housing Secretary Ikhlaq Tarar, the meeting was held three days ago.
