TAXILA: Tributes were paid to veteran Baloch politician Mir Hasil Khan Bizenjo at a condolence reference held here on Saturday.

The National Party Punjab chapter in collaboration with Watan Dost Forum and Awan-i-Danish organised the event at Faiz Ahmed Faiz Hall in Wah.

Senator Mohammad Akram Dashti, Ayub Malik, president National Party Punjab chapter, Malik Najeebur Rehman, founder president of Awan-i-Danish and Chairman Watan Dost Forum Malik Mohammad Asif and others spoke on the occasion.

The speakers paid tributes to the services of Bizenjo for the cause of democracy and upholding Constitution.

Senator Dashti said the late Baloch leader devoted his life fighting for the rights of the people of Balochistan. He said Bizenjo always challenged the anti-democratic forces with courage.

He said the late Bizenjo would always be remembered for raising his voice for democracy, social justice and welfare of the oppressed people. He said it is very difficult to fill the void left by Bizenjo’s death.

He said Bizenjo’s death is a big loss for Pakistan, particularly for Balochistan. He said the late Baloch leader was a seasoned politician and a national leader whose services would always be remembered. He said throughout his political career, Bizenjo spoke for the Baloch people’s rights but categorically opposed armed resistance and militancy and stressed for peaceful and democratic means.

“Drastic measures should be taken to resolve all issues relating to Balochistan,” he said.

Ayub Malik said late Bizenjo always did politics of principles. He underlined the need for a joint struggle by all political forces for strengthening democracy and solution of people’s problems.

He asked political leaders to learn from the legacy of political activists like Bizenjo.
