An Age of Enlightenment

Kamal Azfar

A collection of writings on those personalities of Pakistan who had, in Immanuel Kant’s words, “the courage to know”, or emerge from “self-imposed nonage” and use their own understanding without another’s guidance. Azfar writes on Faiz Ahmed Faiz, Sir Sikander Hayat Khan and Patras Bokari, and further essays on others are contributed by Zia Mohyeddin, Shakel Ahmed, Humayun Nasir Shaikh, Faryal Khan and Ahmed Nawaz Khan Niazi.

Misperceptions in World Affairs

Kamil Siddiqi

Although globalisation is creating opportunities for prosperity for all, it is also threatening the economic domination of a handful of countries. As a consequence, such countries are investing heavily in tactics designed to undermine the social, political and economic credibility of other nations, while maintaining their own stranglehold. The author references history, current affairs and popular media to back his thesis that all is not how it appears to be.
