CHITRAL/NOWSHERA: Three people died and six others suffered injuries in separate road accidents in Chitral and Nowshera.

In Chitral, two persons died and one sustained serious injuries when a mini-truck plunged into a ravine in Kalash valley of Bumburate on Thursday.

An official of Chitral police said the accident occurred when the driver lost control of the vehicle due to speeding on the hilly road.

He identified the dead as driver Ehsanullah, a resident of Upper Dir, and Mir Tayyab Shah of Ayun, Chitral.

He said that injured Muhib Khan of Upper Dir was taken to the DHQ hospital.

In Nowshera, a child died and five passengers suffered injuries when a speedy passenger coach fell into a ditch on GT Road near Jehangira after hitting a motorcycle on Thursday.

According to local police, the coach (EA2758) fell down from the GT Road near Jehangira when it hit a motorcycle. As a result, two-year-old Ahmad died on the spot, while Jan Bibi, 70, Nusr Bibi, 50, Shah Bibi, 42, Bibi Umer, 48, and Anees were injured.

The police said that the coach was on its way to Peshawar from Rawalpindi. The injured were taken to Qazi Hussain Medical Complex.
