KARACHI: Remains of a human being believed to have been dumped years ago surfaced during construction work at a site near Akthar Colony traffic signal on Sunday.

Police said that workers at the site came across a skull and some bones and approached their contractor.

“Finally the police were approached and our team immediately visited the spot,” said Inspector Mohammad Ali Niazi, the SHO of Defence.

“The skull and the bones were taken to a hospital and then shifted to the Edhi morgue. The course of a probe will be set once we consult forensic science experts.”

He said appeared confident that the remains were not dumped there recently.

“Before the construction project started here, it was a huge abandoned place. We believe that the remains had been dumped here several years ago,” he added.
