KARACHI, Sept 24: The caretaker City Government and DCO Fazlur Rehman has decided to take measures for further accelerating the pace of work on ongoing development projects.

The DCO convened a meeting of engineers, contractors and consultants of the projects and directed that them to complete the schemes within the specified period by working day and night.

He said the schemes which are causing traffic problems and people are facing difficulties in road use, should be completed ahead of schedule.

He showed his displeasure to engineers and officials, whose projects suffered from slow progress and delayed as a result.

DCO Fazlur Rehman said during their visits Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan and Advisor Waseem Akhtar had directed that work should be carried out round-the-clock to ensure that no delay is caused in their completion.

He cautioned the officials and engineers that if any project suffers from delay because of their carelessness, action would be taken against them.

The meeting decided to gear up work on Gharibabad underpass and Karsaz flyover.

The meeting was informed that work is fast going on Korangi Road-12,000 from Korangi Crossing to Dawood Chowrangi. Most of the work had completed and now only carpeting of the road was left which will be completed after installation of sewerage lines.—APP
