Police inquiry report in Sonia case

THE police inquiry report into the alleged abduction, torture and rape of Sonia Naz has made some startling findings which give credence to the charges levelled by Sonia. The report has been submitted to the prime minister.

Two inquiries into the Sonia Naz case were ordered, following the publication of the details of the sordid drama in the national press:(1) a judicial inquiry conducted by the Sessions Judge, Faisalabad and (2) a police inquiry ordered by the Inspector General Police, Punjab, which was conducted by a two-member committee including Zafar Ahmad Qureshi, DIG Investigation Branch,Punjab as chairman and Saad Akhtar Bharwana, SP Investigation Branch as member.
