LAHORE: An accountability court on Saturday extended the physical remand of a former chief engineer of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) in a case of alleged corruption in the LOS drain shuttering and road-widening project from Ferozepur Road to Multan Road.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) produced the LDA ex-chief engineer Mr Saeed before the court on expiry of his previous remand.

The investigating officer sought 15-day further custody of the suspect from the court to complete the investigation.

The suspect’s counsel opposed the physical remand and asked the court to send his client to jail on judicial remand.

However, Presiding Judge Mr Akmal Khan extended the physical remand of the suspect for 14 days and directed the NAB to produce him again on Oct 2.
