ISLAMABAD: A woman was rescued along with her three daughters by National Highway and Motorway Police (NHMP) while they were allegedly being abducted by two men on Thursday night.

The NHMP said that officials at N-5 North Sector II, near Rawat spotted a woman shouting for help while she was being driven in a yellow taxi.

They intercepted the vehicle after a chase and found a woman along with her three daughters in it along with the men.

A 30-bore pistol was recovered from the driver’s possession after police conducted a search. They arrested the driver and his accomplice.

The woman, resident of Khanna, informed police that she had no relationship with the suspects and she and her daughters - aged eight, 11 and five - had been abducted and were forcefully being taken away.

According to the NHMP Chief Patrolling Officer Hassan Baloch a yellow taxi on GT road near Rawat was spotted by the patrolling van as a woman screamed and waived for help.

The officers in the van, who were already put on high alert by the NHMP IG Syed Kaleem Imam, responded promptly, chased the taxi and got hold of the young men, residents of Gujar Khan.

The captives along with the suspects were taken to the Sihala Police Station for further legal proceedings.

DIG N-5 North Mr Mohammad Wisal Fakhar Sultan Raja awarded the NHMP officers with cash prizes and commendation certificates for their vigilant performance.

Duty officer at the police station assured that a kidnapping and recovery of illegal weapon case will be registered.
