HAIDER Hussain ... dedicated work for hockey

LAHORE: Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) president retired Brigadier Khalid Sajjad Khokhar on Wednesday awarded a special certificate of appreciation and paid rich tributes to Karachi Hockey Association (KHA) secretary Haider Hussain for his outstanding services at the grassroots level for the development and promotion of the national game.

In a ceremony held at the PHF headquarters here, Khokhar recognised Haider’s invaluable service for hockey during the past decade. He said Haider has been instrumental in organising several hockey tournaments and talent hunt drives to unearth new talent at the grass roots under the PHF supervision.

Also present, on the occasion, were the 1968 Olympics and 1971 World Cup gold medallist and legendary Olympian Rashid Jr. He said that Haider is a hard working person and is rendering selfless services for the promotion of national game which should be encouraged at every forum.

Manzoor Jr, the winning captain of the 1984 Olympics and chairman of national hockey selection committee, also congratulated KHA secretary on receiving the certificate of appreciation from the PHF. He said that the services of Haider Hussain are outstanding.
