SHEIKHUPURA, Sept 22: Over a dozen intelligence officials arrested three people on Thursday from a seminary in Narang Mandi on suspicion of their involvement in terrorist activities and released two of them after initial interrogation.

According to eye witnesses, the officials in uniform and plain clothes entered the Jamia Mosque Sheikhan/madressah Taleemul Quran during Fajr prayers and took away prayer leader Qari Muhammad Ilyas, teacher Qari Muhammad Sufian and student Ziaul Mohsin.

Later, the team released Qari Sufian and Ziaul Mohsin near Bhati Chowk, Lahore. Qari Ilyas was still in custody, Mohtamim of madressah, Haji Muhammad Ishaq, said.

Earlier, he said the officials had raided Qari Ilyas’s house at Gharial village.
