QUETTA: Chief Executive of the Balochistan Board of Investment Farman Zarkoon has said that there are ample opportunities for foreign investment in the province.

“Foreign investment will boost industrial and economic activities in the province as well as provide employment to a large number of people. In order to highlight investment opportunities in the province and attract American investors, the Balochistan Board of Investment has organised a programme on Monday. American investors and the business community will be briefed through a digital conference,” he said.

Mr Zarkoon said US Consul General in Houston Abrar Hashmi, Jumpstart Pakistan Founder and CEO Okhram Zubair, Houston Consulate Trade Attache Shaista Bunyad, 92 Capital founder Jahangir Abbas Awan and the US business community and investors would attend the conference.

“It will be the first conference of its kind to be broadcast live on social media, benefiting millions. It is the first time in Balochistan’s history that such a meeting with US investors is taking place. Further steps will be taken later,” Mr Zarkoon said.

“There are vast investment opportunities in Balochistan in the areas of minerals, energy, Gwadar port, coastal strip and tourism, livestock, where American investors can take advantage of. The Balochistan Board of Investment will provide them full support and facilities in this regard,” he added.
