Published September 22, 2005

HYDERABAD, Sept 21: The owner of the Umed Ali Ice Factory, Paretabad, Mr Umed Ali, has accused the Hyderabad Electric Supply Company of issuing illegal detection bills to the factory and registration of a false case against him and his school going children as he had made a complaint to the NAB against the company’s excesses.

He was speaking at a news conference at the press club here on Wednesday.

He said that due to illegal detection bills, installation of fast meter and other illegal charges, Hesco is demanding Rs1,300,000/- as outstanding bills.

He said that during the last five years he had submitted many applications but the Hesco officials had not resolved the problem of illegal bills. He said Hesco had appointed inquiry committees on more than one occasion but in order to protect Hesco officials, these committees had also taken ex-parte decisions.

Mr Ali said that he had also communicated his grievances to the federal minister for water and power, the chairman of Wapda, the member power of Wapda but without any result.—Bureau
