LAHORE: A woman was allegedly shot dead by the man who had borrowed money from her in the Badami Bagh area on Tuesday.

According to initial police inquiries, the incident occurred when the deceased, Parveen Bibi, demanded Rs400,000 from a local resident, Sadiq Ali, who had borrowed it from her some months back.

Both sides exchanged words, which led to a brawl, a police official said, adding that Sadiq returned with a pistol, fired two shots on Parveen and fled the scene, leaving her injured.

She was taken to a local hospital where she expired. The police lodged a murder case against Sadiq and sent body of Parveen to morgue for autopsy.
