SAHIWAL: Chief Minister Usman Buzdar said on Friday no relief could be provided to the masses without improving governance and the PTI government was committed to improving governance at the district and tehsil levels.

He also assured that development funds would be provided on a priority basis for construction of Express Highway to link city with the newly constructed Lahore- Multan Motorway and for ongoing construction of different blocks of Teaching Hospital associated with the Sahiwal Medical College.

He said this while completing the second leg of his tour to Sahiwal division.

He reached Pakpattan city on Thursday and attended Urs of Sufi poet Baba Farid Shakarganj. On Friday, he met PTI local leaders and elected parliamentarians at circuit house. The Punjab government, he said, was developing lawyers and journalists colonies across all districts of Punjab. He said Sahiwal was already having lawyers colony and promised land for the construction of journalists colony.

He said he would sympathetically consider three demands of construction of women college in Kasowal, Chichawatni, mini hospital at Ghala Mandi, Pakpattan and uplift of Sahiwal as a big city.

The chief minister met Provincial Agriculture Minister Nauman Langrial, Rai Hasan Nawaz, MNA Rai Murtaza, Malik Faisal Dhakko, PHA chairman Ali Noraiz Shakoor Khan and CM complaint cell chairman Sheikh Muhammad Chohan.
