KARACHI: A spokesman for the Hum Network Ltd has emphasised that its EOGM held on Saturday, August 22, “was held in an organised, cordial and peaceful atmosphere” and refuted Dawn's report that said the meeting was “marred by scuffling.”

The Hum Network has informed its shareholders, via a notice on the Pakistan Stock Exchange, that it has reason to believe that it is the target of a hostile takeover by the JS Group, which has denied the allegations. Saturday’s EOGM was supposed see an election of a new board, but that was stayed by the Sindh High Court amid legal wrangling over the disqualification of some nominees. A resolution was voted on for change of company registrar.
