KARACHI: A 45-year-old man was shot dead allegedly by his younger brother over some monetary dispute in Orangi Town-12 on Sunday, said police.

They added that Younis Shakir was gunned down while his brother-in-law, Akram and a passer-by boy were wounded.

Area SHO Sarfraz Ahmed Baloch said that a scuffle broke out between the brothers.

The brothers had sold their agricultural land in Punjab and monetary dispute was going on between them over it. The dispute deteriorated on Sunday afternoon when younger brother Shaban shot his brother, another relative and a boy, who was playing in the street.

The wounded were taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where Younis died during treatment.

The officer said the condition of wounded persons was stated to be out of danger as they had received bullet wounds on thigh and leg.

The suspect escaped.
