LAHORE, Sept 19: Inspector-general of Punjab police Ziaul Hasan has said arrangements have been made to provide special security in industrial areas under the business-friendly policing.

He was speaking at a function organized by the Pharmaceutical Association and the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry here on Monday to pay a tribute to the police officials who had arrested the kidnappers of industrialist Khwaja Akram and recovered the ransom amount of Rs15 million.

The IGP said he had ordered setting up of police posts in industrial areas under the business-friendly policing. Some posts had started functioning. He hoped these steps would be helpful in promoting economic activities in the province.

On the occasion, special shields and cash prizes were given away to the police officers who had investigated the case.
