KARACHI: Federal Minister for Energy Omar Ayub Khan has assured Karachi-based industrialists of ending the weekly gas holiday and said the government is working to reallocate 211mmcfd gas to meet the city’s demand.

In a meeting with members of the Karachi Industrial Forum on Sunday at the Governor House, he said the government is working on a long-term plan for gas exploration to meet the national energy demand.

He vowed to look into the matter of non-implementation of power tariff for export sector at 7.5 cents/kWh — all inclusive — and resolve it.

Omar also informed industrialists that the government is working to bring alternate energy solutions.
