RAWALPINDI: A man was kidnapped from Adiala Road for a ransom of Rs2.5 million, police said on Friday.

Mohammad Abdullah Wasim, a resident of Chakri Road, told the police that his father Mohammad Wasim left home to collect some money he had given to a man.

He said when his father did not return home, he called him and found his mobile phone switched off.

He said later his uncle Malik Mohammad Yaqoob Awan, a resident of Noor Colony Adiala Road, informed him that he had received a call from the mobile phone of Mr Wasim. His kidnapper on the phone threatened and gave the deadline of two days to arrange Rs2.5 million for his release.

Separately,a 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped by three people in Sadiqabad while a nine-year-old boy was sexually assaulted by a shopkeeper in the Civil Lines police area.

A woman from Dhoke Kala Khan lodged an FIR with the Sadiqabad police, stating her daughter was going to her brother’s house when two persons dragged her into their car and drove away.

She said her daughter was taken to a house where she was raped by three persons. Two of them were nominated in the FIR while the third one is yet to be identified.

A resident of Tahli Moori complained to the police that his nine-year-old son went to a nearby shop at night. When he didn’t return, the father went out and saw his son weeping in the street.

The child told his father that he was taken to a room and sexually assaulted by the shopkeeper.
