Curfew along border tightened

PESHAWAR, Sept 18: A strict night curfew was in force on the five-kilometre border zone along Pakistan’s western frontier on Saturday night after high alert from Chitral to Balochistan, Inter-Services Public Relations sources said on Sunday.

According to the sources, military forces beefed up security along the border in view of general elections in Afghanistan.

A private TV channel reported that military helicopters and special aeroplanes were on aerial patrolling along the border, with heavily armed forces on ground.

Additional check-posts have also been established along the border by the military to prevent entry of miscreants and infiltration of terrorists.

The night curfew along the border areas, especially in the five-km zone of Waziristan, has been tightened.

According to military sources, authorities are monitoring the security operation on the border. —-Online
