KARACHI, Sept 17: The students’ week at the University of Karachi concluded on Saturday. A KU spokesman said that the students took active part in the events and a ‘Peace Day’ ceremony was organized at the varsity’s Arts Lobby in which hundreds of students took part.

Speaking on the occasion, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Ikhlaq Ahmed said that the students should concentrate on the acquisition of knowledge. However, at the same time they should also participate in extra-curricular activities as well.

Meanwhile, the departments of Chemistry and Statistics organized contests of ‘Hamd’ and ‘Naat’ and a Mehfil-i-Milad was also arranged.

Cooking competitions were also arranged at a number of departments.

A debate was held at the Department of English while there a fun day was organized at the zoology department.

A programme ‘Neelam Ghar’ was also presented at the Department of Economics.—APP
