LAHORE: The Lahore Arts Council (LAC) on the 93rd birth anniversary of ghazal maestro Mehdi Hassan has uploaded a video clip of his performance on its website to pay homage to the legendary singer who mesmerised music lovers in the sub-continent for decades.

LAC Executive Director Ms Saman Rai in her message has said the council was proud of the fact that Mehdi Hassan performed several times from its platform.

She said Mehdi Hassan who was called King of Ghazal was name of an era that would never end.

LAC, she said, was paying homage to the late singer online on his 93rdbirthday, and felt grateful to Mehdi Hassan for giving Pakistan a unique identity in the word of music.

LAC Board of Governors Chairman Moneeza Hashmi said the singer was an icon who mesmerised the music lovers in the sub-continent for decades.
