He called upon authorities to check black-marketing of new notes and make them available to the people through the banks.

HPG COUNCILLOR: Four members of a family, UC-1 Latifabad taluka, including a Haq Parast labour councillor, have threatened to commit self-immolation outside the press club on September 21 in protest against occupation of their property allegedly by the builder mafia.

Speaking at a news conference at the press club here on Friday, Haq Parast labour councillor Mazhar Ali Parhiar alleged that the builder was constructing two housing schemes — Mir Hussainabad and Indus Bungalows — on their land.

He said the Parhiar community owned 703-11 acres of land in Hussainabad and cases to determine ownership were pending disposal in the relevant courts since 1994.

He said the usurpers were very powerful people, therefore, they had occupied lands through fraud.

He appealed to the president and party chief Altaf Hussain to restore justice by September 20, otherwise four members of the Parhiar family including he himself, a widow Fatima, Anwar and Shahmir Parhiar would commit self-immolation outside the Hyderabad press club on September 21.

Mazhar Ali said the Parhiar family had been struggling since 1987 to reclaim their lands but had failed to get justice.

He said they were left with no other option but to take extreme steps for getting justice.

The others who were present at the press conference included Fatima, Gul Mohammad, Rab Nawaz and Iqbal.

The Parhiar community staged a protest demonstration outside the press club.
