Jat biradari all in all in Gujranwala

GUJRANWALA, Sept 15: The Jat biradari has assumed great importance in Gujranwala for the ruling PML as well as the ARD have fielded mostly Jat candidates against each other for district and towns nazim seats.

The ruling party has fielded former district nazim Fiaz Ahmad Chattha, son of NA Kashmir Committee chairman Hamid Nasir Chattha, for the district nazim slot. While ARD has pitched former MNA Chaudhry Abdullah Virk against him unanimously.

The former district nazim and his father are trying to muster maximum support of the Jat biradari. For this purpose, they are visiting various union councils.

They have also settled their old political differences with senator Muhammad Anwer Bhinder and state minister Shahid Akram Bhinder after visiting their residence in Aroop village a few days back.

Both the groups have assured each other to support for district and town nazims’ slots as the son of senator Anwer Bhinder is the candidate for Aroop town nazim.

The PML has nominated former MPA Chaudhry Nawazish Ali Cheema, also belong to the Jat biradari, the candidates for Wazirabad town nazim slot. While the ARD has also fielded a Jat candidate against the former MPA.

MINORITIES: The Minorities Alliance nominated its aspirants on minority seats for district and town seats who had started their election campaign here on Thursday.

According to alliance district coordinator Nasir Khokhar, Samoil John was nominated for the district council, Dr Jamil Bhatti for Nandipur town, Elder Ferzad Jala for Kamoki town, Palus Masih for Wazirabad town, Dr Kevel for Qila Dedar Singh town and Jan Sahotra for Khiali Shahpur town.

He said that aspirants for Naushera Virkan and Aroop towns would be nominated within next two days.
