BAJAUR: Six inmates of the Khar prison have tested positive for Covid-19.

District health officer Dr Adnan told reporters on Saturday that the prisoners tested positive for coronavirus after the department conducted tests of several suspects a few days ago.

He said all the infected prisoners had been admitted to the district headquarters hospital, Khar.

Meanwhile, Rescue 1122 on Saturday claimed that it had conducted disinfectant spray in the Khar jail after the infections emerged.

A statement said the entire building of the prison, including barracks, the mosque, and staffrooms, had been sprayed.
