LAHORE: Punjab on Saturday reported another 13 deaths, representing a slide in corona toll, and taking the tally to 1,985 in the province.

In the last 24 hours, as per the data compiled by primary and secondary health care department, 8,283 tests were conducted, finding out 730 new cases – taking the total number of patients in the province to 85,991.

The city of Lahore, already under the smart lockdown, continues leading provincial hotspots with 275 new cases. It is followed by Rawalpindi with 84 fresh cases and Gujrat with 46 new patients. All other cities, even those under smart lockdown, reported less than 20 new cases, bringing a sigh of relief to provincial authorities battling the virus for the last six months.

Punjab also reported 1,222 patients recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, taking total recoveries to 53,863. It says it has so far conducted 581,231 tests.
