KARACHI, Sept 14: Japan is reasonably convinced with the reply of Pakistan with regard to the North Korean nuclear programme. Japan’s ambassador to Pakistan, Nobuaki Tanaka said this at a news conference at the Japanese consulate here on Wednesday.

“We had requested information from Pakistan which has supplied good information and we are reasonably convinced that we have information about what is going on in North Korea,” Mr Tanaka added.

He said the North Korean nuclear development programme was much more complicated.

The Japanese envoy said that in the six-party talks with regard to North Korean nuclear programme, “we are getting into all the details”. When asked whether it was after the reply from the government of Pakistan that Japan resumed economic assistance, he replied: “Yes, that was one part of the reason.”—APP
