Babar and Jaffar on target

LAHORE, Sept 14: A goal each by Babar Mehmood and Jaffar Hussain enabled Army beat Panthers Club, Faisalabad in the Pakistan Premier football league 2-0 at the Government Muslim College Ground, Faisalabad.

It was the fourth victory for Army. International Babar struck the first goal in the seventh minute followed by a Jaffar strike in the 27th minute.

Panthers Club have managed six points so far from their seven matches with two wins and five losses while Army’s tally is 14 points from their nine outings, with four wins, three losses and two draws.

Bankers crush PWD

KARACHI: Three goals in the second half helped Habib Bank (HBL) defeat PWD 3-0 in the Premier League at CDGK Stadium on Wednesday.

After a barren first half, Habib opened the scoring in the 70th minute before Shahid Saleem doubled the lead five minutes later.

Habib got his double to complete the rout in the 80th minute.
