LAHORE, Sept 14: Pakistan’s Aisamul haq left on Wednesday for Chile to join national tennis team to play in the Davis Cup World Group play off tie against Chile from Sept 23-25. “I feel better and improved and I am sure I will be fully fit before the tie “, said Aisam before his departure.

Aisam did not accompany the team which left a few days ago because he was nursing an injury in his playing right shoulder.

“I think we have few more days prior to the tie which will help us to get useful practice and to acclimatise with the weather conditions there”, he said.

He said he would be doing practice along with fellow colleagues Aqeel Khan, Asim Shafiq and Shahzad Khan to fully gear up for the important encounter in which the touring side has the disadvantage of playing on red clay courts.

“Even then we will be trying our best to appear as strong and never say die opponents’, he maintained.—APP
