QUETTA, September 14: Justice Amanullah Khan Yasinzai took the oath of Chief Justice of Balochistan High Court in a simple ceremony at Governor’s House here on Wednesday. Governor Owais Ahmed Ghani administered the oath to the new Chief Justice.

Judges of the Balochistan High Court, provincial ministers, members of Balochistan assembly, senior lawyers, chief secretary K. B. Rind and other officials attended the ceremony.

The office fell vacant after Justice Raja Fayyaz Ahmed was elevated to the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

Talking to newsmen, the governor said the government had taken serious notice of terrorist incidents that took place over the few days and would not allow any body to disturbed law and order situation in the province.

“The gang involved in terrorist activities comprises three four persons who have been identified”, he said and added that the gang would be arrested soon.

He said that the element involved in saboteur activities did not want development and progress of this province.

“We will not allow any body to create hurdle in development,” the governor added. He said that these elements had taken advantage of the situation when law enforcement agencies were engaged in maintaining law and order during the local body elections.

The governor strongly condemned terrorist acts and killings of innocent people and said that those responsible for these acts would be arrested soon.

He said the government would give compensation to the victims of recent incidents.

While referring to firing on lady teachers’ van in Pishin, the Governor Ghani said that it was a shameful incident and the government would not spare those behind this act.

“The elements who want to weaken Pakistan would not succeed in their nefarious designs”, he said.

He said that local body elections were held peacefully in the province and the third phase of the elections would also be completed in the same way.
