Adviser to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister on information Ajmal Wazir has said that the smart lockdown enforced throughout the province is showing "splendid results".

Listing the steps the provincial government has taken to curb the spread of the coronavirus in the province, he said:

  • Smart lockdown is being enforced
  • Implementation of SOPs is being ensured — warnings have been issued to some businesses that were not following precautionary measures while others have been sealed
  • Testing capacity is being increased and will be taken to 10,000 tests per day by July end
  • Healthcare capacity, including beds for Covid-19 patients are being increased
