MULTAN, Jan 18: Twelve literary centres will start functioning in Shujabad tehsil from February under the Early Childhood Education (ECE) programme.

These centres will be established preferably in those government girls elementary schools which are situated near basic health units.

As many as 2,000 children of three to five years of age will be imparted elementary education within three years.

Female teachers having at least FA/FSc qualifications will be recruited for these literacy centres.

The Multan district literacy department will set up literacy centres in Multan and Shujabad tehsils in the next phase.—Nouman
