KARACHI: A 40-year-old man was shot dead off the Superhighway early on Wednesday morning, said police and rescue services officials.

They added that Obaid Ali was shot at and wounded by gunmen near the terminal of a private bus service.

He sustained critical bullet wounds and was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

The incident occurred at around 4.18am. The motive for the killing could not be ascertained immediately.

Minor and teenager killed

Four-and-a-half-year-old Hurain was traveling on a motorbike along with her father Nadeem Ahmed, when a water bowser hit them on Korangi Road in Defence Housing Authority near Akhtar Colony. The minor girl died in the accident.

In another incident, a teenager was killed while two other teenage boys suffered injuries in a road accident on Superhighway.

An Edhi Foundation spokesperson said that three boys were going on a motorcycle when a car hit them in Sohrab Colony at Gadap city.
