TECHNOLOGY has brought a revolution in the world and has made our lives easy. But at the same time, this could be a bane too and one can pay dearly when one uses technology, which is also used for illegal purposes by hackers.

They create links that are sent to people on their mobile phones. Once anyone clicks at any of such links sent by a hacker, his online wallet account can be hacked.

This is a colossal concern and a security threat. Recently, my EasyPaisa account was hacked and Rs10,200 in my account was withdrawn from the account by sending a message on 3737 on June 4. The account could not be operated and I was unable to open it.

I lodged two complains on 3737 and Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) for an inquiry into this. But nothing has happened as yet.

The government and other authorities concerned should look into this and take action against those who were involved in such acts. The culprits should be located and arrested so that they may be given justice.
